what should i read?
i just finished laughter in the dark by nabokov, and i feel like i have an array of options, and i am bored at work. help me decide what i want to read:

- sputnik sweetheart by haruki murakami
- life is elsewhere by milan kundera
- farewell waltz by milan kundera
- now and then by joseph heller
- the curious incident of the dog in the night-time by mark haddon
- the corrections by jonathan franzen
- the final solution by michael chabon
- summerland by michael chabon
- amazing adventures of kavalier and clay by michael chabon
- the shipping news by annie proulx
- mary by vladamir nabokov
- the red pony by john steinbeck

life is elsewhere by kundera. definitely! i had to read that for this class i took on prague/budapest/vienna last fall. its a good little eastern european sort of head sender. thats also the only one on the list that i've read. :)

maybe i came in too late on this one, buuuut.....i vote for steinbeck forever. the red pony kills me. i love it.....and not just because my mom taught at the school that jody (from the book) goes to.

it's pretty short though, so i guess you'd be in this position again sooner than later.

also, kavalier and clay rules. soooo that's one vote for steinbeck and chabon, anyway.
