why don't sherrifs have jumper cables

last week or so i was talking to dave about how difficult it would be be to be in one of those situations where someone could be hurt or dead or scenarios that police/firemen/emts all deal with. i said wouldnt know what to do, i would probably freak out. which brings us to last night. i dropped jordan off at his home, and then i was driving thad over to his place. we are driving down prospect and this white car passes us (going pretty fast) it goes past the next light, and then hits a stoplight head on, the car spins over the divider and then end up on the opposite side of the road. we pull over, thad begins to call police, the neighbors wake up and call the police, i run over to make sure whoever is in there is alright. there was debris all over the road and the car was smoking and leaking gas (or some liquid). i yell to the guy he says he fine (which is a miracle) and it was only him and we tried to get him out of the car, but it was locked. im amazed at this point. so much had just happened and i did not once think about how scared i am of situations like that. he could have been hurt and bloody or worse and i was going to the be the first one on scene and i didnt think twice. i know that sounds obvious, but thats pretty big to me.

he claims he fell asleep at the wheel and it makes perfect sense. we sat around to give our story to the police (which in turn were about 7 or 8 cars, when we only needed like 2 people there) and then my car died and they were kindof being jerks about helping me out. they said the tow truck driver would jump it for me, so i waited for him (after thad got a ride home from one of the sherrifs. the tow truck guy told me it would be $55. i laugh. he's serious. i told him that my car died because a light stayed on in the car/ipod charging while i was helping some guy in an accident. he says thats not really ligitamite but he let it slide.

then i got home about 2 hours after i dropped jordan off.

brian did you hear the sharks lost last night? they are shite on the powerplay and i feel this really hurts their chances for success in the playoffs.

wow. crazy. you should win an award or something. the "brians saves the day" award. if they made that, you'd win it. not because you're name is brian. but because you're a winner.
