noir
in class tonight we discussed film noir for a bit. i wasnt really paying attention, but i did get a few pages of notes in. but what i came out with is a desire to watch Brick again. i feel like it changed me, but i cannot say why. not that im hiding my answer, but i really dont know the answer. which is why i demand we watch it again. so can we do that soon....this weekend?
it all goes back to this.
maybe it was their advertising campaign:

i LOVED that movie!! it reminded me of watching modern film renditions of shakespeare, when you know they're speaking english but somehow you're missing a whole lot of context...its like some sort of subterranean/beat dialect! lovely.
My husband introduced me to this movie a few months back and I loved it. I'm not an english major, like my husband, so I have a hard time describing my thoughts/feelings on the movie, but I loved it, plus I'm a big fan of Lukas Haas. I'm glad other people are discovering it.
I liked Brick too. Brian, I know it's not London or Ireland, but would you be interested in going to Cincinnati to the MusicNow Festival? My main motivation is basically to see Sufjan perform songs from Enjoy Your Rabbit with an string ensemble. Here is the festival schedule: http://musicnowfestival.com/index.php?id=3
