(Did you know that in Scandinavia they always use the exclimation mark in greeting? I think this is true, even though Hand told me this. Remember Hand? He took you to the aquarium and argued with the tour guide.) So I have advice for you guys. I don't want you to actually use it. I just want you to hear it, have it, sometime after the fact -- after it's useful. Don't listen to me. Advice so rarely finds its intended audience. i'll call him AC Slater
but the AC stands for Air Conditioning instead of Albert Clifford.
we have this portable/temporary AC unit in my room, next to my bed which is actually making me cold right now. i feel that wearing a jacket will suffice. but that goes against its purpose of being next to me.
in my readings, will and hand are in estonia, trying to bury a treasure chest for kids to find, but where will they leave the clue?
tuesday night is hot chip. it might be the best party ever.
the revenge of the book eaters event in sf will now consist of dave eggers, johnathon richman, sarah vowell, mark kozalek, zach rogue and others. should be good seeing as though two of my favorite musicians from sf will be there.

scotch lies
sometimes i feel that scotland never happened. im growing tired of investing my time and energy into the soon-to-be-futile-(______________) . maybe its just the heat that makes me think this way, or the 4 hours of sleep, or the anticipation for an exciting weekend, or the fact that the new jeremy enigk album is in my earbuds right now. who knows.

san sebastian spain or san francisco usa
in spain we walked around looking for burunda. we found it with the help of an american named chris who was handing out flyers/coupons for burunda. we thanked him/walked with him to the club. we hang out with him for the night/for the next night and that was that. we went our way through the rest of europe to usa and here i am.
last night, in san francisco, at zeitgeist, we walk out and the first person i see is chris. chris from spain. chris from america from spain in america. chris from (i forget which part of america) in san francisco. next to us. he reminds us that he was from nevada. but why in sf. very random. we talk, exchange emails. the whole time i think "this is the craziest thing to ever happen". i cant even comprehend how many miles we are from burunda.
he claims "the world is truly a small place".
now i fully believe that.

i've always loved campbell. with it's coffee shops, cafes, pubs, farmers markets, oktoberfest, recycle bookstore and everything else. now i live here. its crazy. 7 minute walk to the coffee shop with free internet access. im happy about this. this is where i live in relation to everything: [map]. our plan is to get some more furniture/a sweet painting this weekend. until then, i will enjoy this new zip code that i have/have worked under for 5 years.

my thoughts on living in zurich are skewed. i dont think its the change or anything like that. i think i just want to live my life with the attitude i had while in zurich. i might say that was the best day of my life. if only i can make that repeat itself here.
